What do you see when you press the green FX button? If the FX window does show up. Close Vegas Pro, hold down the Shift+Ctrl keys while opening Vegas Pro again. This will prompt you to reset all of your preferences. Reply Yes and see if that resets the window positions.

Actually, if the disc was in the burner it may have not prompted and just burned the disc once the rendering was done. I just tried it without a disc in the burner and I got this prompt which tells me it was trying to burn:

What makes you think it’s a PCIe card? Everything I’ve read says that the Magewell XL 100 D is a USB device.

I believe Sony VidCap is SD only not HD.

I’ve never used an external Blu-ray with DVD Architect Pro (mine are internal) but I don’t see why not. As long as it shows up as a Blu-ray burner on your Windows system, DVD Architect shouldn’t care how it’s connected.

You done good Rick. Preserving family memories is a labor of love. I have a bunch of VHS camcorder and DV tapes that I need to capture and get on DVD while the tapes still play and unfortunately, several of the people in them and not with us anymore. Glad to hear your Christmas present was a success.

That’s interesting. I’m having a similar problem with DVD Studio Pro 4 in Yosemite. When I go to select the color for highlighting buttons all of the options are blank. That’s the only thing that doesn’t work for me and it makes it difficult to change the button highlights. This is why I keep a Snow Leopard partition in my 2010 Mac Pro so that I can boot into Snow Leopard and use DVD Studio Pro without any issues if needed. There must be something that changed about color in newer versions of OS X that has broken this seemingly simple feature of selecting colors. 🙁

Did you use the Create Blu-ray option? You should have dropped the entire Create Blu-ray destination onto your footage. That will add both the video and audio processing. After it’s encoded you will be asked to burn it to disc.
Your job setup should look like this:

You don’t want to do that, While CD audio is 44.1k, video is 48k and YouTube is expecting to see 48k so leave the video sample rate at 48k. Render to any format that gives you PCM audio. This will be uncompressed and as the highest quality.
Since it’s just a static image, then Apple ProRes 422 Proxy should be good enough. Set the Audio for Stereo, Sample rate 48kHz, Sample size 16 bits, encoding Linear PCM and you should have exactly the same audio bit-for-bit as the source. YouTube will, of course, compress this but at least you’ll be starting out with the best quality possible.

The other option I would consider is the ATI Radeon HD 5870 which is fully supported under OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard as well. This was the most powerful card offered as an option by Apple at the time and is what I have in my 2008 Mac Pro w/Snow Leopard. That card is slightly better than the Quadro 4000 in performance and it’s a lot cheaper.
One thing to consider is that the Mercury Playback Engine in Premiere uses CUDA acceleration and ATI doesn’t support CUDA. The rest of the Adobe apps are OpenGL so the lack of CUDA support shouldn’t be a problem. That is the only catch to using the ATI card vs any NVIDIA card with Adobe CS6.
Here is an article I found that compared the two and confirms that the ATI Radeon HD 5870 is more powerful than the Quadro 4000:

I’m sure it’s great for 3D and CAD but it offers little functionality for video editors and you pay a premium price for features you’re not even using.
I would ask in the Adobe Premiere Pro forum about the Quadro 4000 vs the Radeon HD 5870 and see what people think.
