    Further to this………..it seems that if I start capture a few seconds in (and don’t use tape capture) all seems to be fine with the time-code ……not sure why, but I can get around it.

    Thanks Mike, I’ve checked another tape and seems to have the same issue…….I will try your suggestion.

    Also the next few clips from the same tape seem to have the right time-code when I use media-fx …………it is only affecting the first clip which unfortunately contains the main 40 mins of the interview

    I am working in a Pal environment ……..I am sure there is an equivalent pal template but which one ??

    I think they were grouped because it worked perfectly when i started from scratch !

    I totally agree with you about Vegas being great.
    I have used Premiere Pro before and like most Adobe products they are high quality, but extremely hard to learn.
    Premiere crashed on me and I couldn’t get satisfactory support to get it going again. I didn’t have a lot of spare cash, so I tried Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. It’s been fantastic so far………user friendly and easy to learn.
    I may upgrade to the Pro version one day …………but Studio does everything I need right now.
