Yes, the bit rate is fixed for that codec as well.
It’s really only functional for Internet type codecs, such as h.264.

Some codecs, such as ProRes, do not use the quality setting. It’s completely non functional, as the bit rate is fixed.

Always invoking trim mode with key frames near the end of clips, when lassoing. Is there a modifier to prevent that?

Yeah. It’s very annoying.
I like the new flexibility Scott detailed but losing the original simplicity adds a lot of extra clicking for something I do all the time.

Okay, just for laughs, I installed Yosemite on a clone of my boot drive. Avid 8.1 launched and was fully functional in software mode. AJA Kona 3 was not good.’ Stuttery playback with anything more than a really simple sequence. AJA has not released Yosemite drivers or avid open I/O plugins for Yosemite. I’d wait until the all clear from avid before doing any serious work.

Well, the only legit reason would be if you were buying one of those lovely new iMac 5k’s to run it on..which will come with Yosemite pre installed.
A simple test would be to clone your hard drive and put it through its paces.

If you are feeling lucky, you may want to try this.
alt drag all the media files from a Finder window of the AMA drive to an empty bin. This should AMA link those files (if in version 7 or above).
Now open your original bins/sequences. Are the AMA files linked across the board.?
I’ve had this work in a more limited scenario.

No matter what, I always recommend not editing with AMA, but …..
Are you using MC 7 or 8..??
AMA is managed like “regular” avid footage in those versions. I am curious if it behaves better.
