I don’t remember what options were available back in 4.5, but Cinema Tools should be able to remove the pulldown for you.

The Apple Uncompressed Quicktime Codec used in FCP is only available for Mac…its installed by FCP only.
Your Avid may not be able to read it unless you install the uncompressed codec for Windows from Blackmagic or AJA, available on their websites.
If you used the Avid Uncompressed Quicktime codec you should be fine.

No. FCP 5.1.4. I just did it to make sure I wasn’t on crack. You can change the sequence from non-drop to drop in your sequence settings with a checkbox without problem, at any time. You don’t need to make all kinds of duplicate sequences unless you want to.

Yep…for years I meticulously keyframed audio on Avid to satisfy producers and the audio engineer would blow it all away with a checkbox on import. I get paid by the hour to make the producer happy, even if its wasted time on some level.

Yes. You can. You can switch from drop to non-drop at will, at any time. Thats not the same as changing timebase, which refers to frame rate. Non-drop and drop are the same frame rate.
Its a dumb bug, but its easy to work around.
