You don’t. FCPX does not yet have any ability to output to a reference monitor.

The alpha that shouldn’t be there can cause issues.. Try exporting without it.

Also, I am not sure QuickTime Conversion within FCP is smart enough to handle the scaling from the thin raster of native DVCPRO HD to full raster square pixel DNX HD properly.

Avid held an event a few nights ago where they talked about expanding their third party hardware product support in the future…presumably with MC 6. On screen there were logos of Matrox, AJA, Blackmagic and MOTU. There were no specifics mentioned about which cards or when. But something will be happening.

Sohrab,

Entire books have been written on this subject. You couldn’t cover everything in postings on the Cow.

Not trying to be rude. It’s just that we could be posting back and forth comparing how things are done in each system. Just do some avid tutorials and get up to speed. Try to forget how you did things in FCP and learn Avid at face value.

There should be no field ordering problems since this Is progressive footage.

Are you sure of your settings?

Did you do this from FCP directly using Quicktime Convsion or using Compressor?

Compressor gives you more control of your settings, and more reliable results, though you will have to build your own preset.

Uninstall BMD drivers. Download and install the latest Beta driver. It fixes some issues with Premiere Pro.

Make sure you use Blackmagic presets. You’ll get no output via Decklink with standard presets.

You can download and quit the installer before it does anything.
You can burn the disc image to a bootable DVD or USB drive.
You don’t actually need Snow Leopard installed. You can install to a clean blank drive if you wish.

I tried it with the GM and it works. Todays release is identical to the GM.

Lion does not unlock any secret super duper improvements to FCPX.
