Finished the show I was working on and decided to try the release version of Desktop Video 9.2.
Here is what I am seeing….
The “beachball” lockup when using Caps Lock scrubbing is fixed. I can now frame scrub with the caps lock on with audio clips in the source monitor and timeline without a crash…..BUT
As long as Caps Lock is on, I get intermittent, but frequent, loss of video sync (video signal is lost) when switching from source monitor to record monitor or timeline. The solution is to turn of caps lock except when actually needing to scrub.
Can you confirm this behavior on your machine?
Its an improvement, but still not right.

I think if Superbin was visually and operationally more like tabs in FCP Classic, more people would have taken to it. Functionally, it did the right thing…but the visually, it looked alien and functionally, it went against muscle memory with the whole single click thing. Most people got frustrated with it, turned it off and never looked back…even though it had merit. I think the shortcomings of tabs are fixable without bringing back Superbin. Tabs in other NLEs work just fine.

I think the shortcut is to use Ppro or FCP. 🙂
Baby steps by avid here…still aways to go in really embracing tabs and making them functional

don’t waste your time trying to debug it. It’ will just give you a headache.
Just do a video mixdown of your sequence. duplicate the sequence and replace the video with the mixdown. If you still can’t export, do the same with the audio.

There is nothing wrong with your file. QuickTime player is dumb and does not understand anamorphic video. If you open the file in FCP or some other edit system you should be fine.

Avid really isn’t the best tool for this. It converts stills to your project resolution and dimensions. As Michael stated, you can use Avid pan and zoom, but for this sort of thing it will be very clunky. You can also do it in AvidFX (Boris Red), but it’s also going to be clunky.
You’ll probably be way better off with FCP or premiere for this one. N

I guess my first question would be why bother with low res offline? If you used DNX36, it’s not really saving much space over full res XDCAM 50 mb/s , is it?

You need to add a second row of data at the top in your Composer Settings.
Then it appears in the upper corner. -
The Decklink is your output from the Avid, not the internal computer output. If the computer were outputting the audio, it would be out of sync.
Hook up your Decklink to a mixer, or similar device. Hook your speakers up to the mixer.
