Also when i take the ProRes422 master to the post house should I make an uncompressed quicktime file or will that take forever? If not which codec should I use for amazing quality? I can’t render for more than 10 hours due to schedule.

Wonder how important compression settings are for Christie.

( Warren, I might be in touch on Monday if I don’t find a post house ).

    i got a killer Christie CP2000-X
    and a cheap samsung blu-ray.

I’ll try to find a post house in Hollywood on Monday to make a blu-ray.
Mac Pro will be a backup plan.

Mark, what could possibly go wrong and how long does it take to make a blu-ray disc?

Bringing Mac Pro instead of Blu-Ray now.
We’ll use VGA (15 pin ) or DVI out and the christie projector will act as a 2nd monitor.

Anyone have any experience or suggestions with this?
Should I be making uncompressed 1920 x 1080 quicktime or use a codec or just fcp’s sequence?

(David, we shot on 35mm and spent thousands on telecine to master on HDcamSR
Makes no sense to project sd footage).

Okay, well I was kinda expecting that kind of a reaction.
In my defense there’s a huge difference between telling someone you just met “umm, a little more red please”, and actually moving the mouse yourself. And at the end of the day the film either works or it doesn’t. Nobody will come out of the theatre saying “loved the film but wish it was just a little less yellow in the shadows”…

Talked to Deluxe. 23.98 is correct.
    Problem solved.

Yes Shane, the sequence setting says ’24’.
Good question Michael let me look at the dvcam tapes. Hold on.

This is embarrassing but I’m actually grading using Color on my Mac Pro and Apple Cinema Display (the matte version). My eyes can’t see the difference between a CRT and the apple Display.

BTW if anyone here knows Color inside and out and wants to be a $30/hour assistant for 3 days let me know. I’m in Hollywood.

Planning on dumping the finished film onto the Lacie and Deluxe ( or any lab with an HDcam deck ) will be laying it down onto an HDcamSR.

yes i have a 3TR Raid. Is that good enough?
Is HQ better that ProRes? Can someone else confirm this?
My Lacie external drive has something faster than FW800, forget what it’s called.
FYI the RAID is inside the Mac Pro.
You guys sure my Mac can handle HQ?
