It’s not letting me buy Compressor on my Macbook Pro. ( I have an older compressor on Mac Pro that takes 8 hours to convert H264 to ProRes for every 8 min clip ).

Error: Compressor can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because macOS version 10.14.6 or later is required.

Don’t mean to hijack this older thread but I got hours of mp4 footage from a gopro ( h264 codec ) I’m trying to edit in FCP7 on a Mac Pro running 10.6.8. I use Compressor to transcode each HD file to the lowest ProRes setting ( LT ). Still it’s taking a week to transcode 1 hour of footage. Just brutal. Is there an easier solution?

I’ve tried that already. After instagram compresses it it looks horrible. ProRes is the way to go, just need the settings for iphone.

Guys Kronos is the same thing as Twixter just arguably higher quality. I tried that already.
Like I said, I tried optical already as well. I feel like both are great at slowmo but not 1.5 or x2 speed.

Are you saying Compressor can’t do it? What I don’t understand is this: I’ve edited that interlaced footage before and it looked great on Vimeo. Now when I cut it with other not interlaced footage there’s the combing effect at cut point. Is it supposed to be like that? My only solution is to deinterlace that footage before I cut it with prores files that came from 35mm footage and ProRes that came from Red Dragon? This interlaced footage is really old these ProRes files came from 5Dmk2.

Nick, yes you’re right it’s interlaced. The problem shows up in Canvas if it’s set to 100%.
What are my options now to fix this issue? Is my only option to cut out those few frames?
