January 16, 2017 at 3:00 pm in reply to: SVP13 lags when editing footage. (I7 4790k + GPU) Advice?Hi Chris, I have the same CPU and memory that you have. I just yesterday tested a short 4K uhd video clip from a Sony A7R II, no fx added, and it played back at full fps, 25, PAL, using best/full preview setting.
The graphics card is a gtx 1080, not much use for very fast rendering, because not supported in render by Magix, but does assist playback. An AMD RX 480 card would probably do as well or better. I assume the A7R II and A7S II files are similar in makeup?

January 9, 2017 at 1:10 am in reply to: Will Vegas GPU support EVER be updated? Looking for Magix replyThese are some tests, not sure if it moves things on much though, better than nothing.
Until someone makes up a better, say, red car mk. 2 test or equivalent that can stress the newer cards such that the fps for both Nvidia and Amd cannot reach the test projects max fps then testing outside of vegas is still an approximation (may be still close) to what we may get within vegas.
The reason I say this is since we are using vegas, then the results of any testing is more relevant if done in vegas, even if different results apply in other nle’s.

“So really, the only benefit in shooting in 4k downscaling final render to 1080 shooters have is the bitrate?”
You get at least 2 other benefits shooting in 4K, the final fhd output render will be of higher quality than initially if shot in fhd, and crop/zoom/pan capability within 4K while editing is also going to give higher quality output than if you crop/zoom/pan on a fhd input file.

Hi Dave Haynie, theres a small thread here going on here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/nvidia-1080-video-card–104895/?page=1
with some benchmarks and Magix 14, you might be interested.Just like to thank you for doing a lot of the digging in the past RE: the Mainconcept limitations with modern gpu’s, it was a great help.

December 18, 2016 at 1:21 pm in reply to: Vegas Pro 14 – Is the Toolbar still in Black and White?Mark me down as another user who does NOT like the new look. There were changes requested to the colour icons to make them stand out better. I don’t remember anyone asking for black and white. Sorry but IMO it looks ugly ☹
Thought i’d save some typing????

Nice, never knew that, very handy.

I copied this from some other posting, in case u want to re-enable in future …
Also, you can use the keys I and o to remove the yellow markers … i alone works if you use it immediately after creating the loop, and you dragged right to create it. If you dragged left then it would be o that works alone. And if you’ve moved the cursor at all since creating the loop then you’ll need both i and o. -

Can’t see an edit post option.
“For my needs, I then convert 1 video and 1 audio stream, remapped to another .ts file.”
Should have read .. For my needs, I then remap1 video and 1 audio stream, to another .ts file.
No quality loss.
