Dan, I am very “green” when it comes to scripting and have a quick question regarding this script: I want to convert a camera’s orientation data to rotation data, so, would I apply this script to the camera’s rotation data? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan!

Thanks for the quick reply… just to be certain that I’m doing this correctly: Set the 24F TC A-FRAME to 00:00:00:00 and the 30F TC A-FRAME to 00:00:00:00. Would that be correct? (BTW, on the JH-3 the menu item numbers are 623 and 624 respectively).

Julia, make sure your camera is set to either “front”, or “Parallel”. It looks like your camera is a “perspective” camera. I hope that helps.

Well, I wish I had better news, but it’s not all bad. After speaking with the pro on this subject, Bill Mitchell, I found out the following information. Cleaner 6.5 for Mac has always had an internal bug when it comes to encoding MPEG-2 Program Streams. The bug causes ANY Mpeg-2 Program Stream to export the video at 640×480 – no matter what the user instructs Cleaner to do. That’s the bad news. The good news is that there’s a cheaper alternative than Episode or Sorenson for compressing MPEG-2 Program Streams. Bill informed me that I could buy MPEG Encoder 1.5 for Mac for $279. The software is developed by MAIN CONCEPT. See this link for more information:

Craig, thanks for getting back to me. Bill Mitchell (sp?) just called me from FastChannel with settings for Cleaner 6.5. Thanks Craig – you’re right – 720 x 480 is the ticket out of FCP to Cleaner.

I purchased this DVD a few weeks ago and have to express my sincere gratification for the quality of the training. Don’t dismiss this product simply because all of the objects are centered around sports. After going through all of the tutorials I learned that the objects Serge gave me to work with really opened my eyes to the fact that Invegerator can model just about anything.
