Probably not a lot you can do to fix the 400 fps.

You can set your camera to NTSC and shoot 240 fps instead of 200 fps in PAL.

  • I used to have an FS100. On the FS700 you have to go into the visual index, select the clip and hit menu to bring up the Edit menu so you can delete the clip.

The documentation is in the user manual. Read it. There is no way to quickly delete or overwrite the clip.

[Scott Rinehart] “The thing is that 7.6 mm is very short for a focal length. Someone had mentioned that you have to multiply the focal length with the crop which is 3.93 and would give the focal length more around 28ish in focal length.”

7.6mm on a 2/3″ camera at 204 inches is very wide. What is the shot?

    According to Wikipedia:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_sensor_format#Table_of_sensor_sizes

    The 2/3″ sensor size is 8.8mm x 6.6mm

You are never going to get exact measurements that work perfectly. You just have to experiment to get the best results.

February 12, 2010 at 1:31 pm in reply to: nVidia Quadro FX — which one?

I have PP 4.2.1, Win 7 x64, 32 GB ram, dual Quad core Xeon PC with an nvidia FX4600. Everything runs fine.

The FX4600 is not currently supported when CS5 with the MPE comes out later this year (although I think it will work).

    Keep that in mind.

I saved this from a previous Creative Cow post. Unfortunately, I don’t know who to credit:

    From Creative Cow:
Just thought i’d mention a bit about white cyc shooting, I actually worked on one of the mac pc commercials, they used 2 bigeye 20k’s (fresnels) with very large chimeras on scissor lifts as dual keys, and the cyc area was lit with about a dozen 6k spacelights (no skirts). A very simple plot easily duplicated for a smaller stage with smaller units.

Get an Atlas Model XT-100-0-2 welding turntable. They are not cheap but will
do what you want. 0 to 4 rpm – super smooth – foot pedal – forward and reverse.

    https://www.atlaswelding.com/Literature/Positioner%20Brochure2.pdf

I just bought one for food shots. They are around $1,000 – build like a BSH.

You’ll have it for a lifetime.

    Hi,

You’re right – it is pretty average.

Start videotaping some of the national food commercials
(Pizza Hut, etc.) to see how they do things.

Try to duplicate some of the closeup shots they do.

Put some movement on the food shots (rotate the food, fly the camera
    across the food, etc.)

Search the web for food styling sites (there are a lot of tricks there
    for making food look good)

Go the the book store and buy some books on cooking. Some of these books
have great pictures that can give you great ideas on how to style your
    food.

    Get a professional narrator.

Good luck on your next spot!
