400FPS on the Sony FS700
Hi Folks
Quick question – is there a way of making the 400fps function on the Sony FS700 usable?
A bit of context first though – I’ve been toying around with the slow motion function on the camera for a while, and am fine using the 200fps function. It’s ok (noticably reduced quality though) and it helps to add a extra bit of depth to my work.
I was at a paintball site the other week and had the camera in the car. Thought I may as well play around with the 400fps function – and it’s great from a “ooo slow mo” point of view, but god, as far as image quality goes…..it’s utter crap.
Here’s some raw footage that I shot on the fly. It’s not my best, but it mostly shows what I mean – as far as image quality goes, it’s not all there, but being able to capture the balls as they move through the air is awesome. (in the background, balls flying out the barrel)

How do I use this more professionally? Is it even usable?

Probably not a lot you can do to fix the 400 fps.
You can set your camera to NTSC and shoot 240 fps instead of 200 fps in PAL.
