    Mike,
I tried that. I assume you mean “Project Media” (Media Pool is old name?)
I have nothing on the timeline. I have focus on the Project Media tab. I run “add timecode” script. I drag clips to the timeline. Each clip starts at Zero.

It’s not clear if you’re asking for a critique of your video or technical advice with Vegas…or?
If you could be a bit more specific, someone might be able to help

December 31, 2007 at 5:12 pm in reply to: newbie – moving a group of edited clips together

Right click the first event in the group. Choose “Select events to end”. Then click and drag down the timeline.

If you have events on multiple tracks to move, Ctrl-click each first event, then do the “Select events to end” on any of them.

So, when events are selected together, they will be draggable together.

For more, look up “groups” in the help menu

I’d like to play with the H.264 codec and the various settings that it looks like QT Pro offers.

In trying to get the best results for web-video. I know Flash would be best (at Blip.TV they will leave your flash encode intact) but don’t want to pay the $ for it yet.

Of course, if Vegas offers H.264 or something as good, with plenty of settings to tweak, that would be great.

So I use the pan/crop tool to take care of the warbly edges. But it looks like if the subject invloves complex movements or pans then the deshaker won’t work too well.

[Bryan Wells] “I see in Vegas 8, I can pick MainConcepts AVC/AAC and Sony AVC to render H.264.”

    Bryan –
I looked for an H.264 option in my Vegas 8, couldn’t find it. Do you have Quicktime Pro installed on your system?…or maybe that Codec not native to Vegas 8?

    Take another look –
    Render/save as type:mainconcept mp2
Template: DVD Architecht NTSC video stream
Click the Custom button, then the “video” tab at the bottom of that window. Don’t you see all of that stuff? I see everything you were asking for. Find those tabs down there.
