Hi, I am just new to sony vegas 7. I think I am doing alright but my biggest problem is when I have a large group of edits together and I need to move them down the timeline as a group.
    thanks Aaron

search the help for RIPPLE editing (essential knowledge), or highlight all the clips in the ‘group’ and press ‘G’ – they will now move together (until you select them again and use ‘U’ to ungroup the same)

you can also press ‘D’ to cycle through the selection cursors, rather than have to use the buttons at the top
    🙂

Right click the first event in the group. Choose “Select events to end”. Then click and drag down the timeline.

If you have events on multiple tracks to move, Ctrl-click each first event, then do the “Select events to end” on any of them.

So, when events are selected together, they will be draggable together.

For more, look up “groups” in the help menu

If you’re using the full version, you might also look into scripts for selecting events various ways.
