Thank you so much for responding John!

I was able to take their Muxed MPEG2 file and export an H.264 QuickTime with audio through MPEG Streamclip. I can then do whatever I need to with that file through QuickTime Pro on my machine.

The only thing I’m now worried about is that they are able to provide me with a TOTALLY UNCOMPRESSED file. I’m not familiar with Sony Vegas at all. Can you give me some specifics as to what sequence settings and export options will render a totally uncompressed file?

    Thanks!

Thanks Dave! I should’ve gone straight to the manual to find that I guess, but hey, sometimes people have some inside tricks that aren’t in there!

    hey there! Thanks for responding!

Mapping textures and responding to lighting isn’t that important to me, BUT……would I at least be able to move the parts around and rotate the knife? You know, could I unfold the blades, etc.?

    Sweet! That worked perfectly!

NOW……..how can I bring those back into after effects and automatically set the duration of each still image to be 1 FRAME?

I guess I’m not sure what you guys mean. Are you using the dots/pixels as points of reference to re-adjust in FCP? The main problem I have is with text layers. If someone builds me an art card that has bullet pointed text with each bullet point being a separate layer, the sizing and placement of each layer is affected and changed when brought into FCP. And not even in the same way most of the time. Text layers that all have the same size/font/effects/etc…. will be affected differently when brought into FCP.

I’m confused. I’m just not sure whether it’s a Photoshop thing or a FCP thing or both?

thanks guys! I think I’m squared away on my lighting and gain settings, but are there any camera menu settings or presets that you guys really like for good looking skin tones against a white background?

Ok, so I think I’ve figured it out.

Don’t use the Animation codec when saving your movie capture through Snapz. Instead, use the h264 codec at 30fps (frame reordering box not checked). Keyframe every 500 frames, choose Multi-pass encoding mode, and drag the Compressor quality to Best.

The sequence settings I used in FCP are shown in the attached picture. My export settings out of FCP are shown here as well. This may not be someone’s ideal method, but it worked for me and I’m happy…..for now!

Actually, I’ve never used Cinema Tools before. Any tips on how to do that?
