Is there no workaround for this? Like in the original post, I often am sitting where I want to extend to, and just want to lasso the relevant tracks and have them extend or whatever to my playhead.

    joining in from the future…

in the way of editing, you check these things and then often forget what the answer is until years later

despite my trying to keep track of these things in a google doc…

the closest seems to be command lassoing the section with blade edits, getting the red roller bars, and hitting ‘delete’…

now going to try it on a much bigger sequence

    Thanks!

Is there a way to assign which bin the new clips are placed in? Right now the default seems to be the root.

In the ‘Capture’ window, it looks like you can assign where captured clips should go, but it doesn’t seem to work for VO recorded straight onto a timeline.

Thanks! You got me headed in the right direction.

To name the clip it’s right click next to the audio track to get voice over record settings – where you can assign a custom file name.

and to assign the save location for the captured audio its : File/Project Settings/Scratch Disks/Captured Audio

    Thanks for your time!

    Thanks!

What I was hoping for was the ability to set a root name that PP would then increment: ie Project 1 take 1,….2,….3
I’m always looking for redundancy in file names etc. as inevitably I end up moving stuff around at the Finder level.

Is there the ability to assign the folder the files are saved to?

I have not yet got my head around where Premiere places things – both when importing and when internally generated like VO or new sequences, subsequences, etc.

    thanks

I’m having the same problem and tried double clicking in the program monitor. Anything else I might be missing?

You can map ‘clip appearance – increase/decrease waveform size’ to something convenient.

Thanks – what I was looking for though was the ability to control what projects are in the history list…like the open tabs of FCP 7.

Is there a way to clear the project history if I wanted to force it to only have two projects in the history list?

I like to have a scratch timeline to dump clips I may or may not reuse and want to find quickly…so only having one or two items in timeline history would let me apple [ and ] between projects.

Perhaps I’ve just not figured out the new and improved fcp x way of doing the same thing.

    thanks

  • Yeah so far one of the kids has iMovie which I’ve only used on my phone…

Hopefully they can at least get a taste for it even if it lands on my lap. I remember cursing my way through the last one, all of which got washed away when the kids got to see it.
