I would start a project, bring footage in from both camera’s and then right-click a clip from the D800 and select “New Sequence From Clip. Premiere will then up-size anything from the panasonic to match the D800 sequence. I do it all the time.

Media Encoder works great. You may need to create your own preset depending on what flavor of ProRes you want to encode to.

Impossible to do at this point on a mac as far as I know. We received our F55 last week and did a test with XAVC. Crashes PP6.02 and Media Encoder. Sony told us that we had to wait till PP7 comes out to use it. We had a commercial to shoot this week so we had to put the camera in XDCAM mode in order to use the files. The only benefit of this was the ability to shoot S-GAMUT. Even at XDCAM level, the footage looks wonderful! Can’t wait till we can use XAVC.

We got our F55 the other day. Did some test shooting today with XAVC Intra Class 100, 1920×1080, 29.97 and 59.97. Crashes premiere every time. 4K is overkill for my commercial production, but I will try it next.
At least there is a preset in premiere for the 4k. After that, I’ll try the bottom of the barrel XDCAM HD format because I know my machine can handle that. I’ve had Adobe in my machine now for 2 hours trying to figure out why it doesnt work. They are uploading the mxf files to their ftp for analysis.
It’s really great being on the bleeding edge……
