Got it solved with Preference Manager. Trashed all Final Cut prefs and it opened. Quite possibly also a permissions issue for my media drives.

Viola Indeed! Wacky because if I did open the project I didn’t do any editing or anything, so I didn’t presume preferences.
Thanks!

I just bought a new Mac Pro and have been running Avid Symphoney 6.1, and the whole Adobe CS 5.5 suite just fine.
I needed to do some Final Cut work so I installed my FCP 7. I swear I opened the project yesterday and at least looked at it. But today FCP crashes every time I try to start it.(Maybe I just installed and didn’t launch)
I’ve searched all over and can’t find any solutions. One which might have been similar was about 3rd party plug-ins. But I haven’t even installed any yet.
Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks

May 10, 2011 at 10:32 pm in reply to: AUTOMATING PHOTOSHOP newest DVD from Creative COW — Save $10 off nowSounds like a great DVD. I’ve been using Photoshop for years and I’m sure I could learn new things from it, but I’d love to see some examples and excerpts before I would take the plunge.
Are there any clips available? Thanks.

Thanks! I’ve been trying and trying to find something that would allow me to just look at Avid mxf files as a preview etc. I can’t believe it’s been so hard to locate.

I’ve had the same problem trying to export flash. I’m on CS3 on a MacBookPro and have now tried 3 different projects. The first was pretty big so I figured I was just impatient. But my latest attempt was only about a 2 min video with one menu.
The big question is…if it doesn’t work, is there a patch or any work around.
After the great hullabaloo Adobe made about this feature when first announcing CS3 I would think they would want to make it work for all of us!

This was a helpful thread for me. We recently had a couple programs accepted at American Public Television for distribution on PBS. Everyone has told me PBS is possibly the toughest on these specs.
One of our programs is airing on 4×3 SD. We had no problems with this one. The other was shot SD 16×9. These anamorphic WS standard def shows are upconverted as a matter of course and thereby have to meet the HD specs for video and audio levels.
This has been a challenge for me because most of what comes out of my suite is for corporate or direct to DVD programs. I’m quite familiar with keeping an eagle eye on waveform and vector scope levels but the gamut thing was all new to me.
We are working with some good, helpful, and knowledgeable people. Hopefully we can pass it in the second try!

I’ve tried creating an entirely new project and still have the same problem.
Maybe this is a question only Adobe can answer.

That method works great. The only problem I’ve had is getting the loop point correct.
