Jeff, here is what I have done: On the timeline, each of the 17 chapter points are linked to their respective buttons in their menus, and the end actions for each one says ‘Not Set’. When previewing with the ‘VCR Remote’ in Encore, Play All starts with chapter 1 and plays through chapter 17, but does not return to the Main Menu, as there is no end action set.
In the Chapter Playlist, I created a new Chapter Playists for each of the 17 chapter points – 17 total chapter playlists in all. I set the end action for each one to go back to it’s respective menu page. When I do this, it automatically sets the same thing in the timeline. At this point, I am chasing my tail. I have tried to follow the Adobe CS4 heip files, but am still not getting it. I have looked for an online video tutorial in hopes of finding one dedicated to creating the same things that I need – play all and independent play of all 17 chapters via chapter playlists. I am out of time at this point to order a Tutorial DVD as I have to overnight this disc on Monday to a client for Tuesday delivery. Whew! I cannot see the forest for the trees!
Can you, once again, show me the errors of my ways? If there is a downloadable file that will coach me through this for CS4 encore, I will purchase ASAP. Mt email is john@inlandimages.com

I re-imported the First Play file and created a new timeline. Now I am able to set it as First Play. Comments anyone?

When placing your text, make sure that you zoom into the timeline and verify exactly where on the timeline that you are placing it.

I saw the previous post by Roar Amundsen saying that he is using subtitles in CS5, but I realize now that he did not say “Closed Captioning”. Let’s hope that the specs change soon to allow this.

Maybe the powered splitter has incurred a change and is now the problem. Have you tried the HDMI splitter with a different HDMI reference source?

Peter, I have been following this development for awhile. Your post comes at a perfect time for me, as I just purchased (2)Gh1’s last week instead of going with Canon. I am setting them up this week with full rig support. No current overheating or recording length limitations, and both the articulating LCD and the electronic viewfinder are great. The kit lens with autofocus during video recording is also there if the situation demands it. Best of all, the price is right. There are so many lenses out there at great prices for them as well! Looking forward to additional firmware developments!

Steve, I can hear the AGC kick in immediately after each last syllable. There is also general background rush/hiss during the quiet segments, in addition to the outside enviro noise. Bring your file from the t2i into your NLE and zoom in of the wave form. You may be able to see the results of the AGC.
