    You need an I/O device that works with 3D. The Kona 3 does. Others may, but I’m not a 3D expert.

    Another thought is to Reconnect the clip in your timeline to the new image on your drive. This is fast, but won’t change the timeline clip’s labeled name. Both approaches may need to be tweaked if the new image is a different size than the original one.

    I’m not familiar with that plugin. Is it possible those clips are spanned and, therefore, joined with another clip.

    Having an XLR connector on your mic is an advantage as you’ll also be able to use the mic with conventional mixers and other audio devices.

    You are correct in wanting to convert your 5D footage to ProRes. I’m not sure why MPEG Streamclip doesn’t see the ProRes codec. Try Repairing Permissions or better yet run DiskWarrior then Repair Permissions. Have you tried Compressor? Be sure to turn on Frame Controls and adjust the quality settings. That will produce an excellent transcode.

    If you Google you can find many technical specs for isolation, but basically, use your ears. IMHO, if you can hear any outside noise in the studio it’s not isolated enough. In 1978 we built a studio with double-wall construction and floating ceiling & floor. We were a hundred feet away from a railroad line and never heard a whisper. But you pay for that. Our construction cost was six-figures. Also, don’t forget ventilation noise can be an issue.

    Thinking totally outside the box… This is for a Mac. How about you have Calibrated’s MXF Import. Also, install Avid codecs (available somewhere online – I lost the link) Open MXF file in QuickTime. Then Export Movie to Quicktime and in Options select Avid Meridien. It’s a bunch of steps but might be automated using Automator.

    I’m not sure I understand your question. Are you trying to light both the talent and greenscreen with the same two instruments? Do you have a light meter?
