    To smooth it out you need to track the area you want to remove. You can do this in AfterFX. Checkout this COW tutorial Camera-Tracking Part 1. There’s also a part 2. I haven’t watched this recently, but it should give you enough info so you can apply it to your project. CoreMelt has an plugin called Slice X that will do the job, but it’s only for FCPX.

    Also, lens choice may be a factor. Broadcast cameras have parfocal zooms which hold focus over the zoom range. Unless you have or rent a high-end cine zoom lens for the BMCC, you may not be able to get to shots and focus as quickly as you could with a parfocal.

    I believe the ,cda file does not contain any audio. It’s a link to where the audio is-similar to an alias.

    I use event Manager X, but have used the Finder without issue since 10.0.6. I’ve archived this way and have had no problems going back working with those archives.

    You might also do this in Motion. The eye is the challenge. The wall can be handled with a tracked matte, although, there’s some rotoscoping to be done with the person standing in front of it.

    If you don’t see the vertical audio meters, hit Opt-4 to reveal them. In the timeline, if you have Clip Overlays (Opt-W) on you will see a line in each clip representing the gain setting applied. If you click on that line and slightly move the mouse up or down you will see the gain level (odb, -3db, etc.) However, only the audio meters will show you the actual level. One nice feature is you can see level indications as you scrub through a clip. It’s a nice way to identify hits in the audio that might clip.
