Also, I had the same problem on my mac using CS3. I had to save out to illustrator 10 before I could get any result.

I wonder if you would be able to import that into Photoshop Extended. You would def be able to do that there but I am not sure if it will take a Zaxwerks file. You should show us a link so we can see what those speakers look like. That project sounds cool.

If you go to the website there is a pdf tutorial on how to import an ai file and turn it into a 3d logo step by step. You might want to tray saving the ai. file as a illustrator 10 file if you are on a mac. That is the only version that will work for me on a mac.

You can use Live trace in Illustrator cs or cs2 or CS3. Select your logo then follow this path: Object/Live Trace/Tracing Options.

I’m running AE7 on a G4 powerbook with Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator Pro 4.09.

I did a test where I saved down to every version of Illustrator on my computer and I can only seem to open a illustrator file if it is saved to version 10 even with all check boxes unchecked in the save dialog box
(I left .pdf checked)

So problem is solved, now I just have to figure out how to use that function 🙂

It’s just a circle with a stroke. I think it’s my software. Because if I have just a circle with a stroke and I can’t import that then there is something wrong.

At the moment my logo is just a circle I made in Illustrator to see if I can extrude. I can’t even do that. I still get the same error message. I can use all the other functions but importing an illustrator file just wont work.
