Thanks guys. All making sense now – especially the linked sequences. They’re working fine now.
My only other issue so far is the audio. I’ve never dealt with multiple tracks before for this kind of delivery. How do I specify what audio is on which track in the exported file? We’ve been asked for 1&2 Full Mix and 3&4 M&E
Looks like this is definitely the way to go over the hassle of finding an FCP suite to do all this on. Just wish we had more projects in the pipeline which we’d be needing this for though! At least we’ll have it ready when the time comes though.
Are Sony likely to be working on a Premiere version?

There are also some clips replaced with AE Comps in which various effects have been applied. In the renders from the nested sequence, these AE clips are repeated for some reason. However if I render the original timeline (pre-nested) then these AE clips are fine.
I’m guessing I could render each sequence individually, and then re-stitch these together where I had my nested comps previously, then render the lot as one full episode? Seems like a long fix but then I’ve only had the program an hour and I’m sure there’s a better known workaround for this.
Sorry, I may be rambling as I clutch at ideas!
Thanks

The cost seems fully justified in its own right – just I’ve never had to run final deliverables out before and after this project I can’t see it being anytime soon that I’ll have to again. A colleague has always dealt with final renders in the past but it’s up to me in this case and it seems this plugin will have to be the way to go… best bite the bullet and get it bought.
I’ve just run out a test using the trial and all seems great so far. One query though – if I render a sequence all is fine, but if I render a timeline in which there are multiple sequences nested then my audio is all way out of sync. Is this a known issue with any fix?
The questions are piling up already but I’d best overcome this issue first.

Ignore that last post, shame I can’t delete/edit it. It proves what a long tiresome this day has been – I totally misread the estimated size, it’s 8GB.

That seems perfect, Kaptis, apart from the price tag! Will have to see how far our budget’s going to stretch on this one.
I’ve downloaded the trial and with my output as specified earlier, it estimates the file will be 8TB! Does that sound right for a 22 minute piece? Apologies, I’ve produced for broadcast in the past but never had to deal with output/delivering before so am unfamiliar with filesizes.

Ok, ignore me, ignore that post. Ignore the day I’ve spent trying to figure this out.
Guide layer for any other idiots struggling with this!

Thanks for the responses, guys.
So it looks like XDCAM is our only option if we’re to stick with the Windows machines…
James, under which export settings would I find the XDCAM options? Have been away for a few days but when I return tonight I’ll check this out, don’t recall seeing the option for XDCAM when I was last looking.
If ProRes becomes compulsory, we could export as uncompressed Quicktime files and then export these as ProRes from a colleague’s FCP setup, right?

Thanks for your response, Richard.
I was surprised to find, after all I had read about CS5’s native support, that my footage was more editable once processed through Neoscene.
Neoscene aside, I still encounter this squashing effect while using the .mov files straight. All looks fine until I render the workspace.

Also when trying to bring the troublesome premiere project into After Effects, Dynamic Link crashes and PProHeadless.exe delivers a big old error. Lovely!
Could it be just 2 awkward AVIs causing all this mess?

I’ve found a few similar posts, all unresolved!
I’m used to working without the title bar since it vanished a while back. After having to reset my workspaces today, the bar is now back again. There doesn’t seem to be a solution in the workspace options, nor does the `¬¦ or ~ keys work as most would suggest.
Not a major problem, but we all love our workspaces!
