NIck, we were just told to switch to 64bit Kernal on our Mac Pro. Why that hasn’t been posted here yet is beyond me.
On our system this fix works.

Oh gosh no, certainly not for live editing. However, it would be a much more elegant solution for screeners than running a 200 foot HDMI through the walls, roofs, carpets, etc.

It’s more than airplay though – airplay is only for videos. You could in theory watch the edit screen or the event browser – or heck, even after effects, live. If it works in iPad, I can’t imagine it wouldn’t work with a more powerful edit system – especially if you’re hardwired via LAN.

You’re welcome! I felt a little responsible since i had posted in the FCPX forum that the update was out. Apple recommends 10.6.8 for FCPX, however as we’ve learned, it’s always a good idea to wait for others to jump into the update pool first :).

One interesting thing I’d like to add. Logic exports OMF’s. No plugins required.

Before launch I made a comment that ‘there’s no way FCPX won’t support at minimum a ‘send to logic option’. I was very wrong. Not having that is actually very un-Apple. They’ve been pushing interoperability between Apple applications for many years now. I’m sure they’ll fix it, but it’s certainly a head scratcher.

That should in theory work. Rolling back to V1 of Snow Leopard will likely make your system a little wonky. Hopefully that would work though. Can you not wait until Monday afternoon? I’d give AJA every second of time I could to get these drivers working. If you can’t, go for it. I’d google the downgrade process first though. There may be easier/better ways to do that.

I’m sorry – we deleted the drivers and all is well, except that we can’t use our Kona 3. So, I guess it’s not really that well. We’re out of town till Tuesday, but I’ll try to get our crash log sent in.

Guys, I don’t know what to tell you. AJA’s gotta update drivers to work with 10.6.8. I’ve never downgraded to an older version, but it must be possible. Probably the solution is to reinstall snow leopard, find the previous 10.6.7 download file (it probably lives on the web, right?). and run only the 10.6.7 update and any pro-apps updates – but NOT by the software update method. I’ve never seen a software update actually break drivers like this.

A bad week for Apple is putting it mildly.
