Have you done a RAM preview in AE(press 0 on number keypad, let AE fill render to RAM then it plays back in real time), does it play as it should? What are the frame rates of your composition and what are the frame rates of your final rendered file?

Is it because of this: FAQ: Why is my output file huge, and why doesn’t it play back smoothly in a media player?

I would find a wingdings font that had a triangle, create a row of triangles, then just copy a circle into the text path options.

  • Have you tried using the regular stabilizer, pre-speed up? You may have to start and stop it in multiple places, because of the hand moving over certain spots, but that shouldn’t be too hard to fix.

No need to be sorry. Best method would be to re-shoot, that would be the simplest answer. That could be cloned/painted out, but unless you’re a genius at that, it’s not going to look great…which I think you have already discovered. Shadows, movement, wrinkles all become big problems.

Just a thought, but since you can’t see her talking, could you take the end of the shot & zoom in past the microphone and just edit the dialogue from there?

Wish I had a better solution, but IMO reshoot will be less costly than spending week(s) trying to fix that mic pack.

If you did it in AE, I would use the split clip command (shift+cntl+D). You could also try Edit Detection Script

Create a circle shape layer using only stroke. Twirl open the stroke, dashes and click the plus sign to create a dash and change the Line Cap to Round Cap. Now animate the “Gap” from O to 70 to 0(or whatever looks good, depends on your stroke width).
Next use the “Add” fly out to add a “Trim Paths”. Animate the Start from 0 to 100% and animate the offset from 0 to 360. To each parameter, add the expression(alt+click stopwatch): loopOut("pingpong")

Now you can play around with those parameters and it will just automatically adjust. Check out this example project:

Can you post a few screen grabs, so we know what we’re working with?
