  • You could drag each video layer and drag it on to the new comp button, that creates a new comp the length of you video layer. Do that for each
video layer and add text to each comp. Then take each of these completed comps and drag them on to the create comp button and if you selected them in the order you want them be in your video, choose single comp in the dialogue box and they will be correctly sequenced. Otherwise, just order them from top to bottom, use the animation assistant sequence layers.

If you are using the tutorial above with the beam effect, you can set the “length” to 100%, then animate the “Time” from 0 to 50% to have the line animate on.

If they are all connected, I would just create a camera and a null. Enable 3D on the null, parent the camera to the null and then rotate the null on it’s Y axis.

Can’t tell, it is only playing in real time for a couple of seconds. Sometimes the number of particles will just slow down the CPU/GPU to the point of skipping. Shouldn’t since it looked like you had a RAM preview though.

Does it skip when you step through it frame by frame? If it doesn’t I wouldn’t worry too much then, probably just a playback problem that won’t effect render.

Open the info panel, and you they have to be layer markers, not comp makers, but just alt-click each marker and the duration will pop up in the info panel.

The problem was that your “Layer 5 Eyeline”, didn’t have the continuously rasterize button pressed(looks like a little sun). That button makes AE know that your layers are vector and will maintain crispness no matter the scale.

Here’s a good explanation of Continously Rasterize/Collapse Layers Button, it’s a process you need to know when using AE.

Post a picture with your comp window & timeline please. Twirl open the layer that the lines are on so we can what effects you have used.

    thanks

I don’t think there is a way to get a random time offset in CC Particle World. I think you would need to create multiple layers of the effect, with a different texture layer for each one with different start time animations.

Trapcodes Particular supports random start and looping capabilities for particles, and if you are really up for a challenge you might be able to do it with Particle Playground.

  • Does it need a C4D tag that AE needs to see to interpret correctly? Otherwise I would suggest rendering out the hologram layer with an image buffer from C4D and composite it in AE.
