I just created the effect in AE 6.5

Send me a quick email johnny@ckandco.net and I can send you the project, it would be easier for you to just look at it, then try to translate ayato.

When rendering, I would render the Fractal Precomp layer seperately first, with an alpha, then under post-action, use the “import and replace usage”

    Cheers

    I’d take it.

Seriously I’ve heard of some people having problems with the Adrenaline, but it’s become the work horse in our shop. HD & SD, use it all day long. Crashes are extremely infrequent. The biggest problem we had was that RAM bug, but that’s been since corrected. I run it with photoshop and AE open all the time(though I know I shouldn’t)

Guess the only real issue that I have still is with firewire capture, that is goofy sometimes.

Sorry to hear about all your problems Grin.

If you are looking at the boxes that flow around the video, that’s done by creating a mask, then applying Trapcodes 3d stroke and then applying trapcodes starglow.

Almost all of the lines moving throughout the piece were created using those 2 plugins.

Go to http://www.trapcode.com Aside from the plugins at a great price, he has tutorials that will show you exactly how those effects were done. You can demo them, to see if you like them.

It is not, I have sent in a feature request asking for exactly this feature.

Guessing you ran into the same issue I have, you have an opening animation that you don’t want to see after playing the video. My solution was to create 2 menus.

Tell you something about the avid cert classes.

I’d been editing on the avid systems since around 98, never felt the need to take any of the classes. Changed jobs in ’04 and my boss made it a point of always offering to send me to the classes on the company dime.

Found myself with some down time and took a two of them. 201 Avanced Techniques & 305 Avanced Effects.

Now after taking either of those classes, did I learn to do anything that I couldn’t already create or do. No. What I did learn though was so many different time saving tricks & techniques that have easily saved me 20% or more on my editing. I spent so much more time doing things, since I had taught myself, that were wasteful, redundant….

I’d reccomend them to anybody be it a new editor or one who’d been doing it for 6+ years like I had, you’ll definetely get something out of it. Course it helps to being doing it on someone else’s dime.

  • If you go the route of bringing everything into photoshop, you would really save some time by just recording an action to resize your photo, then using the batch automate process to covert all 100 of them.

Course then you have to bill less. 🙂

September 27, 2006 at 4:38 pm in reply to: Jeff? HD/Blu Ray

    Thought I would ask…thanks anyway…

For 3 years we have been talking HD, nobody wanted it. In 1 month we landed 5 HD projects. Everything is good except the deliverables, which are on every dang different format possible.

Was hoping that Adobe would be coming to my rescue very very soon.

Thanks Jeff, keep up the great work.
