fractal line animation
Posted by Dave Jackson on October 5, 2006 at 3:01 pmi need to create one of these, is there a place online or in here where i might be able to find out how to create one.? I am following an online tutorial, stage 3 says does this, but its not a beginners guide so i am now stuck.

Animation of a Fractal Material
Create a New Solid in a New Composition.
Apply Effect > Render > Fractal Noise.
Create the fractal line animation.
And, Apply Color the Material by “Glow”. (Blue)of course if its ok to post other sites then i can forawrd on more info.

October 5, 2006 at 4:30 pmThis sounds like an Ayato tutorial. If so, consider that English isn’t his first language (I don’t think there’s any such thing as a “fractal line”), so you should try to match the results he gets in the pictures.
Could you post a link, please?

October 5, 2006 at 6:17 pmThe key is to set your Fractal Noise settings up like his, especially unchecking “Uniform Scaling” and setting Scale Height to 10000.

Send me a quick email johnny@ckandco.net and I can send you the project, it would be easier for you to just look at it, then try to translate ayato.
When rendering, I would render the Fractal Precomp layer seperately first, with an alpha, then under post-action, use the “import and replace usage”

i have done the project, sorta, just i cant get the thing to move, obviuosly the animation bit, but i didn’t know where i was puttin the keyframes, and to what
