You could also pay a post-house facilty that does have Automatic Duck to transfer the project for you if you don’t want to buy the programme yourself.

If you’re based in Europe then you should go with PAL gear unless you’re producing exclusively for the American market and/or if the material will be edited in the US. Deliberately mixing PAL and NTSC for the reason you mention is thoroughly impractical.

Just for the record, all modern European PAL DVD players, TVs etc will play NTSC DVDs, so sending a PAL DVD to Europe is not an absolute necessity. The opposite is not the case however – the great majority of NTSC machines do not play back PAL formats.
If you’re not sure, you can send over an NTSC DVD as a test…

As suggested, there are in fact two different installers on the disc. Photoshop Elements 2 does actually run on an Intel Mac (in Rosetta), version 4 is about to be released.

One shareware app I’ve heard people find useful for transcribing is DittoAV – download link on this page: https://www.overhyped.com/software/index.html

Alternatively, use the file transfer facility included with iChat or Skype. The latter has the advantage of being multi-platform.
