Yes, I think it is an output mismatch, but I’ve tried all the easy setups that should work here. Seems strange that there’s no compatible output.

And it did work with a crash edit, so how come not in the ETT window?

The movie plays out fine via my monitor though.

I have posted on the blackmagic forum as well, but seems to be a collision of a whole bunch of issues so I thought I’d post here too. Yes, I’m dragging from the browser to the ETT window.

I managed to record the sequence to tape using a crash edit, so it must be some problem with the edit to tape window..

Could it be that I’m trying to output a prores 59.94 movie and the prores 29.97 video output is not compatible with the deck?

    That’s totally what it was.

So long beloved video dektop. But really, there must be a way to have both working at the same time. Maybe I’ll post on the Blackmagic forum too.

    Hey, you’re fast.

Yeah, the control tab – that’s what I meant to say. In the little pulldown tab font thingie. I can’t change it.

For what it’s worth they just replaced my breakout cable. You’ll have to pay shipping and fill out some paperwork but I bet they’ll come through for you. Email support.

You could just start a second Final cut pro project and do your capturing from the second tape in there.

Then, when you’ve got everything captured, open both projects at the same time and drag the clips from one into the other.

That’s how I’d do it… mind you, I’m not a particularly efficient person.

There’s no tension on the cable, but reconnecting it makes the problem go away for a few minutes

I’ve had the system for a year and a half, it’s been doing this for the last few months. I don’t have another cable to try since I’m going right from the card to the SDI input on the monitor.

The analog out is fine, though
