My decklink card is unstable.. Covered ???
Posted by Anders Haavie on September 25, 2006 at 7:08 pmI have bought about 13 decklink cards (both pro and HD Extreme) One card is a bit flaky, sometimes the mac will not recognize it.. and I have tried it on two different macs with the same problems.
Will I get a new card from decklink, or will I have to buy a new one ?? (it’s about one year old)

September 26, 2006 at 2:17 amHi Anders,
When the card is not recognized, please go to the Apple Menu and choose About this Mac. Click on More Info. Then click on PCI Cards in the System Profiler. Is anything listed for the DeckLink card? If so, what does it display?

September 26, 2006 at 5:34 pmI am having a problems with my decklink HD single. I have been using a JVC monitor (no deck yet) and a Dual 2.5Ghz powermac G5 with 6 gb ram. The problem started with the monitor image not loading up or sometimes the image would shut off. Recently it only gave me light snow. I tried to move it to the top 133Mhz PCI slot to no avail. I then installed/unistalled/reinstalled the 5.6.2 and 5.7 drivers. The closest I came to getting it to work was when I had just downgraded to 5.6.2 from 5.7. After restart the destop appeared for 15 sec before returning to black. It was heartbreaking.
This is what my system profiler reads:
pci-bridge:
Type: pci
Bus: PCI
Slot: SLOT-4
Vendor ID: 0x3388
Device ID: 0xa104
Revision ID: 0x0000Any ideas?

September 28, 2006 at 7:01 amHi,
Are you connecting to the JVC monitor via SDI or component analog? Which model of JVC monitor are you using? I think some JVC monitors take RGB analog input whereas the DeckLink HD Pro single-link card outputs YUV. If you are connecting via component analog, please ensure the monitor is set to accept YUV component analog video.

September 29, 2006 at 12:51 pmThe mac does not see the card at all.. at least that is what is happening after a little bit of use. Tried two different macs. Lots of strange hardware problems using the card, and then it will eventually loose connection to the card.. Everything up to date. latest drivers and fcp
