3.0.1 supports Quicktime 7.4.5 at this time. I haven’t tried going beyond that for obvious reasons. I suggest you wait until it’s approved to start using it with 7.5.

Jack,
When uninstalling and re-installing the software, there may be some folders that you will have to clean up before the re-install (or before installing newer builds). To clean up folders:
1. Uninstall your existing Avid editing applications. This includes any helper applications such as FilmScribeâ„¢ or EDL Manager.
2. Remove the following Registry keys on your system if they still exist after the uninstallation process.
HKLM/Software/Avid Technology/productname
HKLM/Software/Avid Technology/AVX Plug-ins3. From the following folders, remove any folders that do not have custom data in them that you want to keep. If you do have custom data, copy the data to the new locations after step 4.
C:/Documents and Settings/AllUsers/ApplicationData/Avid/productname
C:/Program Files/Avid/Productname
(Vista) C:/ProgramData/Avid/Productname4. Install the new Avid editing application.
MAC Uninstall Issue:
There might be an issue with the way the Avid Uninstaller application runs. This bug is where the Uninstaller file may accidentally delete your icons from the Dock. This would only happen if you are Uninstalling software to move up to a new Build, or Uninstalling the software for troubleshooting reasons. Avid is aware of this bug and is addressing it.

I would un-install/re-install the hardware. And be sure to re-boot. It sounds like there may be some leftover reference to the previous video card. Once you are back up, make sure you check the options in Avid for FSP to “on” and “select this monitor” for FSP.

This is a supported card. According to the 2.8.1 Readme:
The supported NVIDIA graphics driver is version 91.85.

David,
I’ve had this problem occur from time to time as well. Delete the database files on the hard drives where the media lives, let Avid re-build them, and see if your media either comes back on its own or can be re-linked.

A little clarification from Avid:
We are very excited about Frank coming on board at Avid into the product management editor team!
Just to clarify – Frank is taking on the position of Product Designer working closely with myself who is the Media Composer Product Manager, Greg Staten (Product Designer for editors), Steve McNeill (Product Designer for editors) Olivier Karfis (Product Manager for editors) and Tim Claman (Director of Product Management for editors)

There are MANY talented editors on staff at Avid, but it was just announced that one of the best editors around has been hired. Frank Capria, from the Boston area, will be Product Manager for Media Composer. Congrats to both Frank and Avid on this announcement.

The Nitris ReadMe says on multiple occasions to transcode to DNxHD to get around XDCAM issues. It even suggests the same for DVCPRO HD:
“Avid Symphony Nitris cannot always play back native DVCPRO HD media without dropping frames. This is due to the fact that on playback, the system has to create a version
of the media at 1920×1080 at full resolution on-the-fly.
Workaround: Transcode the media to Avid DNxHD or uncompresssed HD for real-time playback.”So I guess transcoding is the way to go.
