i want to uninstall and re-install my Avid Media Composer v.3.

Is there a correct way to do this on a mac?

I’ve searched on the Avid site and can’t find anything on how to do this.
can someone please tell me, or kindly direct me to a link that
gives directions to uninstall and re-install AMC v3 from a Mac …
    I will be very grateful.

    thank you

    Jack,

When uninstalling and re-installing the software, there may be some folders that you will have to clean up before the re-install (or before installing newer builds). To clean up folders:

    1. Uninstall your existing Avid editing applications. This includes any helper applications such as FilmScribe™ or EDL Manager.

    2. Remove the following Registry keys on your system if they still exist after the uninstallation process.

    HKLM/Software/Avid Technology/productname
    HKLM/Software/Avid Technology/AVX Plug-ins

    3. From the following folders, remove any folders that do not have custom data in them that you want to keep. If you do have custom data, copy the data to the new locations after step 4.

    C:/Documents and Settings/AllUsers/ApplicationData/Avid/productname
    C:/Program Files/Avid/Productname
    (Vista) C:/ProgramData/Avid/Productname

    4. Install the new Avid editing application.

    MAC Uninstall Issue:

There might be an issue with the way the Avid Uninstaller application runs. This bug is where the Uninstaller file may accidentally delete your icons from the Dock. This would only happen if you are Uninstalling software to move up to a new Build, or Uninstalling the software for troubleshooting reasons. Avid is aware of this bug and is addressing it.
