it’s like hours for me…working prores 422HQ….can get it lower by going 8bit on the renders…not a problem…sequence in this case is the 60 minute…2x30min shows texted/textless…but it has a lot of 3rd party effects, at least 2 on every clip…Nattress effects…that probably doesn’t help much at all…
i did it twice, and the same media was offline…..on both sequences…had read access only to the original media, i’ll try that in R/W and see if that differs…

missed you saying you had 2 LED, thought they were the LCD 30″ers…so geting back late, yes…2 video cards, but as shane said, not good for FCP…
so you could try that adapter…it’s only another 180 bucks after you shelled out 1800 for your displays that you can’t use both…(btw refurbed, the 24s are only 600 each)

great…thanks…but it still takes up less space than the full project…so i’m testing how long the sequence with the 80% renders takes to re-render, compared to the full sequence without renders…is FCP intelligent enough to not re-render the files it has if you tell it to render all?
do you know if it is completely random on which clips it loses the render? I’m going to do the same thing and see if the same clips are lost…there has to be some reason why it is doing it…my initial test projects didn’t lose any renders, but they were really small projects…this is an hour show, (well 30 minutes, texted and textless…)

yes, get the adapter from Apple, works perfectly. only reason you would need to run 2 video cards, is if you are running 2 of the 24″ LED Apple Displays…they only work off the mini display port….there are no adapters that work…but for you….mini display to DVI, you’re golden…
how do you like your Cinema display….ours looks like hell next to the 24″ LED display….se la vie

isn’t that what Media log does for AVID? sorta…
can you open your log and capture tool, log the timecodes, then try reconnecting that way? just a suggestion…never tried it, so don’t know if it would reconnect the master clips correctly

October 14, 2009 at 7:45 pm in reply to: where can I convert P2 23.98 into 29.97 correctly?thanks for the info guys…so hard to keep this straight when I have to worry about all our FCPs and AVIDs running, our storage working, and our editors complaining about everything ELSE, lol.

October 14, 2009 at 3:05 pm in reply to: where can I convert P2 23.98 into 29.97 correctly?oh but wait…HDV can be 720 as well…but why in 1080 is it Thin Raster 1440×1080, and 720 it’s full 1280×720?

October 14, 2009 at 3:02 pm in reply to: where can I convert P2 23.98 into 29.97 correctly?so….even though the P2 says it is 960×720 @ 23.98, I should edit with the DVCPro HD 59.94 Easy setup…
so the aspect stays the same, 960×720, but the frame rate plays at 59.94, because P2 23.98 isn’t true 23.98, but faux 23.98…recorded at 59.94 frames
I understand that….what I’m still a little foggy on is the aspect…960×720 is thin raster 720 i guess? so where and how is the Kona playing back at full 16×9….what does it do to the pixels…are we talking square versus rectangular pixels?
on a side note…if DVCPro HD 720p is 960×720, and DVCPro HD 1080 is 1280×1080….I guess 1280×720 is full raster 720p? and for that matter 1440×1080 is thin raster 1080, which is HDV, right? stick with 1 frame size already….it’s confusing enough with the different frame rates…
i shoulda become a doctor!
