Yeah, Rip the card out and send it back to AJA.

I ended up talking with an editor who’s spent some time on the system as well. He went “oh yeah, I forgot about that. I think someone turned the phantom power on and blew the output”

    Just what I don’t need…

That’s exactly what I’ve done to confirm that it’s the analog output off the card and not a cable / breakout box / board input issue.

I get the same noise if I go:

Kona Card -> breakout box -> Board

Kona Card -> Octopus Cable -> Board

It’s not the input on the board, as I’ve used multiple and it follows CH2 Analog.

My gut is that the board got fried at some point before I got here, and no one noticed or cared.

That’s possible, improbable but possible, I’ve reserected projects from the same era with no issues, just did one resently that was half beta and half DV, loaded and captred fine. I don’t know if i wasn’t thinking, or maybe someone else had captured the media, I hope that it’s some funky 4.5 to 5 bug, and that installing 4.5 lets me open the file and gives me time code that works, if not i just love rebuilding projects from scratch…

FCP5 installs Compressor 2.0… so i’m going to re-install 2.0 and see if that makes a difference.

    okay, done it all.

i’ve tried, having the sequence selected in the browser, and open on a timeline, in/out points set at beginning and end.

cntrl-click the sequence in the browser… ‘sequence conatians no media’

tried the File>export to compressor… with the timeline active and with the broswer active… same error…

did this BEFORE deleting prefs and after, no changes..

I’ll probably end up re-installing Compressor and seeing if that resets something. Just wonder why it worked ONCE and then not again…

Wish it were that simple. I’ve tried exporting with no in/out points, in/out set at the beginning and end of a sequence, and even a section of the sequence.
