I’ve much trial and error I’ve found the best solution is to use Handbrake with these settings.

Works best for any social media platform actually, and reduces the file size massively with barely any loss of quality. Stops the social sites from compressing and sabotaging quality.

Thanks for your reply. The camera works fine with other Sony lenses and have tried cleaning the electrical contacts… is there an expert way to do this?

And how do I find out if the lens has firmware update options?

Sorry if this seems obvious, but would photoshop do the trick? Essentially, would I import a png or jpg of high quality and then export as a RGB TIFF file? That can then be used in the edit.

If not, if you could walk me through the process step by step that would be great.

Thanks Noah, how would you set it up though? Obviously the GoPro couldn’t be left on location but tricky trying to price the job as would require regular visits to activate.

Thinking minimum capture time of 3 days a week, for 2 hours at a time, for the 1 month duration. Does this sound about right for decent results?

And what Intervals would you record at?

Whoops, sorry Mark -I sent the last post before getting your reply. Thanks for that though.

So, if I were to hire in some additional lights, what would you suggest please and how would you set them up and position them (in an ideal world)?

Thanks for your replies guys.

The subject is a person who will just be standing still in a mid shot and talking to the camera. I want the cove to a be pure seamless full white. So I’m just looking for a very simple shot with both the subject and the cove lit (ie, with no shadows etc).

So, what’s the minimum amount of lights I could get away with, and how would I position them.

OK, so if I had FCP7 on the same machine could I import the file straight into that to be usable as a .MOV file?
