    Hi Guys,

    Hope someone can help.

    I’m using a Sony 28-135mm lens on an FS5. They seem very compatible but often, mid-shoot, the iris will cease to become adjustable from the camera – the isis wheel on the camera doesn’t work, nor does the auto iris button. You can only adjust it on the lens wheel.

    Then miraculously the controls will start functioning again for no apparent reason. Very annoying.

    All the while the focus controls remain working fine. Just the iris that’s the problem.

    Can someone please throw some light on this. Thank you in advance.

    Hmm, might there be an issue with the electrical contacts?
    Do you have another Sony lens you can test with?
    Otherwise does the lens have firmware update options?

    Thanks for your reply. The camera works fine with other Sony lenses and have tried cleaning the electrical contacts… is there an expert way to do this?

    And how do I find out if the lens has firmware update options?

    Doesn’t seem to be any firmware update for that lens at the moment. I believe they do issue firmware updates though.

    You may want to contact Sony and see if this is a known issue with a firmware fix in the works.
