I have the exact same problem. Any luck sorting this out?

    Thanks Eric,

Would you use MPEG streamclip or similar, or is it fine to just put the 1080P on the timeline and scale to footage?

    Cheers

Have you setup a quick cluster for compressor to work in? I personally feel that Compressor does a better job of standards conversion than Adobe Media Encoder. In compressor, make sure you’re using Frame Controls and Rate Conversion is at Better or Best if you have the time.

Maybe some others can chime in.

    Thanks Matt,

Thats fine, I guess what I was getting at. As long as it will playout via HDMI I’m happy. My final project will be either conformed or re-timed to 29.97 anyways.

    Cheers

Read the sticky after here’s some more information.

I’m shooting with a Canon 5D Mk2, but will encode to Apple ProRes 422 for editing. Then I will use the self contained reference file to export to H264 on whichever program I can figure will be the fastest. The Telestream demo only allows 30seconds, so its really hard to judge.

I will be running a MacBookPro with Snow leopard. We have a 13″ 2.26 and a15″2.8 , both intels. Would prefer the 2.8 but space is a consideration.

Hope that helps shed a little more light!

Right, thanks all. Think I got the picture so to speak. I’ll sort STP out, use that for multi-track VO then import the AIFF file into the FCP timeline.

    Thanks for all the input!

I ended up Re exporting to Color and bringing it back into FCP. Worked fine this time. So maybe it was just the corrupt file gremlins from the previous one or something. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks Arnie, I did find one black frame. Slipped the footage and re-rendered. Still the same General error on export though.
