double-check where the frames are being saved to… if the folder you specified has been moved / renamed / whatever, c4d might be having problems finding it.
may want to check your 420 settings as well… might be cranked up a bit too high.

agreed. i use it all the time, and the integration is amazing!
as long as AE is doing this, i’ll never use another 3d package but C4D. -

April 3, 2006 at 4:46 am in reply to: anyone haveing black flash frames on their renders?woah!
most tangential and entertaining thread ever!so, if anyone’s still reading this very odd thread, i’ll clarify…
rendering a full (non-trimmed) comp to lossless (animation codec) quicktime, 720 x 405. nothing funny going on.
but i’ve seen this for a while now… every so often (fairly frequently- i’d say 1 in 8 renders) has a random black frame in it. if i re-render the comp, the comp again has a 1 in 8 chance of having another black frame. so the odds are pretty good that it won’t if i re-render it. if it does, the frame is never in the same place as it was.
so it must be a system or app issue, and nothing specific to do with the comp.
oh, and it’s a dual processor G5 mac.so, great swami, rain wisdom down from the mount!!!

here’s what i would do…
render out your C4D scene and AE composite file from C4D, but place 4 lights (0% brightness) at the 4 corners of your screen.
make sure to render the screen as an object mask.now open the AE comp file in AE… the 4 lights will mark the point in space you need to place your screen in AE’s 3D space.
now mask it with the screen object mask from C4D, drop it over your render, and you should have an AE screen on your TV.hopw this makes sense!

doug-
thanks for the qt!
i was afraid of that- moving ALL the keyframes. i was hoping there was a single ‘time track’ or something so that you could just move one parent thing and all the children would follow (kind of like moving a pre-comp around in aftereffects). oh well… tedium is often mistaken for brilliance!
cheers
