So I am back on that old project. What I am doing is basically replacing a the video on a screen in a scene modeled in C4d, imported as RPF, with an isolated ID tag for the screen itself which is basically a plane. (No Z thickness).

On the Maxon website https://www.maxoncomputer.com/ads/aftereffects/aepart2.html, it seems that they simply replace the previous oject with the new video, et voila !

Not so good on my side… So my isolated oject does show up in AE as an alpha channel of the screen. Everything I tried including Luma Matte, gives me out of perspective non scalede result. Any magic answer ?

    Sorry guys, it’s a long one, but I figured I needed details…

    Thanks,

    Vince

    here’s what i would do…

render out your C4D scene and AE composite file from C4D, but place 4 lights (0% brightness) at the 4 corners of your screen.
make sure to render the screen as an object mask.

now open the AE comp file in AE… the 4 lights will mark the point in space you need to place your screen in AE’s 3D space.
now mask it with the screen object mask from C4D, drop it over your render, and you should have an AE screen on your TV.

    hopw this makes sense!
