If you don’t want it highlighted when selected, then create a custom menu color set in Encore where the selected state opacity is 0%, and the activated state is whatever color and opacity that you want. Then make sure that the color set is selected in Menu properties.

You won’t be able to make it the actual background, but once you apply it, you can send it to the back (bottom) of the menu (do this from Object > Arrange), and then lock the JPEG image in the Layers panel (it’s the middle button to the left of the layer name).

There’s a Title (or Top Menu) button on your DVD player remote control. Normally, when a user presses this button, the DVD player loads a main menu, from which you can navigate to other menus or timelines.
If you don’t plan on having this kind of menu on your disc, then ignore it. When a user presses that button, they will get a prohibited operation message onscreen. If you do plan on having this kind of menu, link to the menu from Title Remote in Disc properties.
Menu Remote is similar. There is a Menu button on the DVD player remote which normally links to the menu that’s associated with the timeline. If you don’t care, ignore it; otherwise, link to the desired menu in Menu Remote in Timeline properties.

Sorry, what you are trying to do is not possible in the DVD-Video, not with any DVD authoring application. Menu video and audio backgrounds in DVD-Video can only be a single file each, per menu…they can’t be shared across menus.

The only way to do what you want in the DVD-Video format is to use separate menus. Sorry.

Check Project is just telling you that both the last chapter and the timeline have an end action.
If you are using chapter end actions, then the last (final) chapter end action will always trump the timeline end action. If the chapter end action is the same as the timeline end action, you can safely ignore the warning message.

Import the JPEG into your Library, then apply it to the menu opened in the Menu editor.

Try selecting all the subtitles in the subtitle track, making a change in the Character palette such as Leading, and then undoing.
Burn a test DVD RW and see if that works for you.

It’s not the motion menu showing the problem- sorry, I misunderstood.
Since your affected menu doesn’t have a Loop Point set, then it’s not a loop point problem. Try eliminating the overlapping buttons and see if that fixes the problem (overlapping buttons can cause unpredictable results).

What’s the menu duration and loop point set to? (you can find this in Menu properties)
