Try that first…it may work, although I doubt it.
Then try creating a new project in Encore 1.0.1 – import your 16:9 footage and see if a new project works correctly. There may be something in the old project that is keeping the undesired behavior.
If that doesn’t work, then you could try tweaking your 16:9 export settings in Premiere, although I also doubt this is the cause.
But if all of these fail, you really should consider upgrading. Four major versions of Encore have been released since Encore 1.0 came out over five years ago.

Encore 1.5 definitely does not support H.264 encoding. However, H.264 is supported in Encore CS3 and CS4.

Similar to how you exported H.264 from QuickTime – you select it in the video compression settings in AE. Keep in mind that uncompressed = large files. I’d suggest QuickTime-DV or MPEG-2 for DVD, if you version of AE supports the latter.

Instead, try exporting as QuickTime DV or uncompressed from AE, and then import that into Encore.

You might want to provide more information about the encoding of the AE files, and about your Encore project settings.

Hmm, you’re right…CS3 doesn’t offer Field 2. Encore 2.0 does offer both fields for closed captioning.
Closed captions being in Spanish wouldn’t cause this problem. But the CC timecode beginning at 2:09 might, and the fact that it has colons instead of semi-colons separating hr/min/sec/frame may also be at issue.
Have you tried replacing timecode colons with semi-colons in the original scc file? Once you’ve done that, also try subtracting 2;09 from all timecodes, and see if that helps.

Encore 1.0 is antique. Do you have the 1.0 update? (I think it’s 1.0.2?)
