Sounds like FCP is trying to playback everything in real time, but doesn’t have all the resources it needs so it cuts back on some things, like the number of audio channels during playback.

Go to the Sequence drop-down menu, select Render Only, then select Mix Down. You may have to do this many times, as you make changes to the audio it will need to be re-rendered for correct playback.

Try both or contact the support department of both, describe your trouble, and see if they know where the fault lies.

Sometimes Panasonic and other manufactures will have a Data Recovery program you can download from their website. Look under Support.

I use Adobe Media Encoder, with the setting listed before, to process for Vimeo. I don’t think it is doing anything special to make it work right. Try Vimeo’s Tech Support and have them evaluate one of your videos. See if they can track down the problem.

Try running it through Apple Compressor and covert it into an Apple ProRes format for editing in FCP.

Here are the settings I use preparing a video for Vimeo and have had great results;

Format MP4
Frame size – same as source
Frame Rate – same as source
Field Order – Progressive
Variable Bite Rate (VBR) 1 Pass
Target Bit Rate – 4Mbps
Max Bit Rate – 5Mbps
Audio – ACC
48khz
Bit Rate – 256

I use a Lumix adapter purchased from Abel Cine, no wiggle with the Olympus 14-35 on the AF-100.

As for the other issues, welcome to the world of SLR lenses. The “features” you mentioned, like the iris bump, are part of the economical price point.

You can Select All the files in a folder then drag the group over to the batch window.

I don’t know of any file limit in Compressor. Sometimes you have to wait a bit when moving in a bunch of files for the program to Cache everything.

Open the Compressor program.

Drag the files you want to covert from the folder to the DropZone (down arrow) in the batch window.

In the Settings window of Compressor, choose QuickTime and the version of ProRes you want, drag this to the the clips you put in the batch window.

Click Submit

This will convert the files to ProRes and put them back into the same folder. Also, preserving your original files.

Use Compressor, it will put the files right back in the same folder they came from.
