  • To create your fade at the end:
Create a Black Video Clip (File/New/Black Video), place it above all other tracks on the timeline, then put a dissolve at the head of the black clip. That way everything goes to black at once and you don’t have to worry about things going transparent in the middle of the fade.

    I get it now.
If you key frame your color to change from purple to green the Hue Direction determines whether it goes purple though blue to green or purple through yellow to green. Hmm, still don’t think I’ve ever had a need for it, but now I know. I’ll save this and amaze a producer one day with my color wizardry options.
Thanks for digging it up Paul.

“if you keyframe colour values, this can determine the direction of the change around the colour wheel.” Nick

OK. I guess I’ve never had a need to do that. Maybe I’m not thinking creatively enough.

    Hue Direction Control
I’m not sure exactly what it does or what it is for, I’ve never used it.

The FCP De-Interlace filter has a flicker-filter selection, try that.

Check the levels of the white text. They should NOT be 255-255-255. If they are it may cause interference when they playback in NTSC.

Use 240-240-240 for white to make it more compatible.

Great ad, thanks for sharing. It looks like a lot of careful planning and a lot of time in AE you could achieve similar results. I can’t think of any plug-in transitions that would do the same. If they are out there I want them.
