Sounds like a 2GB upload max. Your upload speeds would determine how fast that could go.

Avid will only do Rec709 HD video in 1920×1080. So you can’t do full 2K, and you cannot work in RedSpace. To get the Red footage in, you need to convert it to DNxHD. You can use MetaFuze for that, or RocketCine-X or RedCine-X or RedRushes, or Scratch or Baselight/BLT, and perhaps some more. There is no Avid Nitris. There’s Avid DS Nitris, Avid Symphony Nitris, Avid Symphony Nitris DX and Avid Media Composer Nitris DX.
There is no version 3.7 of any of those. DS was around v7 when the Nitris box came into play, IIRC.
MC versions were 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 3.0, 3.1, 3.5 and 4.0 (with Nitris DX support since v3.0). Symphony was 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, then 3.0, 3.1, 3.5 and 4.0.
In fact, the Nitris or Nitris DX box itself have nothing to do with support for DNxHD36. That is a feature enabled in the software.
Pretty sure that DNxHD36 was part of the Symphony 1.7 and MC 2.7 releases.
That said, the Avid codec was recently slightly revised, so in order to get proper playback you MAY need to download the newer version of the codec. Should work on the older system.

Only in v4. The EX is likely 23.98p-within-60i. The Red can be 23.98p, 24.00p or 25.00p.

Upgrading would be best. Also: on your end you could use the 30-day trial version of Avid MC, and use that to open the XDCAM files through AMA, then transcode the media (in MC) into DNxHD, and send him the mediafiles and the bins, regardless of his version of MC.
That said, your issue with the QT export is the following. When you order a mono QT export, you will end up with a sum of the present audio tracks. So you get one mono track which has both orignal A1 and A2 in it.
If you need to keep those two tracks separate, make sure that in FCP you have your tracks panned hard left and hard right, then export to QT with STEREO audio. Then you will end up with a 2-track clip (with sound panned hard left/right, but you can change that once imported into MC).
There would be no reason to go back to the original XDCAM audio at any point, as long as you don’t alter the audio tracks.

Xpress DV is pretty old software, and is no longer supported. There’s no telling if it will work with any new computer or graphics card.

First of all, the upgrade to v4 is worth every dime. You’ll gain features and performance throughout the entire application.
I’m pretty sure that most resellers would be willing to cut you a deal when upgrading from MCAHD to v4 with a XD box. Actually, in Q4 of 2009, there was a pretty sweet bundle deal that gave you a Z400 with a Nitris DX when trading in your MCA.
MC 4 will surely run on the XW8400, though. Doing that myself. See the current system requirements.
Mojo DX is supported on the XW8400 (with the right Quadro FX card), but DNxHD capture is only supported on dual quad core versions of the XW8400. Not saying it will not work with dual-dual machines, but saying that it may not work.
It depends on the current offerings, but usually, you can either upgrade your current software from 2.8 to v4 (you can even do that online), or you can upgrade your software from 2.8 to v4 while adding a Mojo DX (or Nitris DX) with some discount. Then you can either add a Mac or HP to that (or keep your CPU). I’d tend to think that resellers would want to cut better deals on the larger packages.
Have you considered taking the Adrenaline HD to a support site? There might be some life in it.
