AVID Nitiris v3.7 and DNX36
Hey guys,
Got a client who’s concerned about playing back DNX36 in Nitris 3.7 rather than 4.0. Anyone know if this is an issue? Not really an AVID expert and couldn’t find any clear answers via the google.

There is no Avid Nitris. There’s Avid DS Nitris, Avid Symphony Nitris, Avid Symphony Nitris DX and Avid Media Composer Nitris DX.
There is no version 3.7 of any of those. DS was around v7 when the Nitris box came into play, IIRC.
MC versions were 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 3.0, 3.1, 3.5 and 4.0 (with Nitris DX support since v3.0). Symphony was 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, then 3.0, 3.1, 3.5 and 4.0.
In fact, the Nitris or Nitris DX box itself have nothing to do with support for DNxHD36. That is a feature enabled in the software.
Pretty sure that DNxHD36 was part of the Symphony 1.7 and MC 2.7 releases.
That said, the Avid codec was recently slightly revised, so in order to get proper playback you MAY need to download the newer version of the codec. Should work on the older system.
