Before you import, flip your project format to 4×3. Then flip it back. MC5 should then pillarbox 4×3 images inside your 16×9 canvas.
If you don’t want to import again, go to your bin, and display the columns ‘reformat’ and ‘aspect ratio’ and change them so that the image is being displayed in the right size (not at my system now, can’t tell the exact settings).

Depends on your monitor. Some will convert the two fields into a progressive frame. If it’s 24p-over-PAL, it will be tricky for the monitor, as the field order changes every half second. If it’s 25p-over-PAL, it should be very easy for the monitor.
If you choose Full Frame playback mode, I think you can set that to display the progressive picture (but do mind the monitor’s refresh rate then).

There is no such thing as progressive PAL. You can have a progressive image stored in a PAL signal. But a PAL signal (so the signal going to a PAL monitor) will always be 620/50i.
Inside, the Avid will treat the images as being progressive. It’s the output boxes that need to interlace.In HD, it’s different, as HD has 23.976p, 24.00p and 25.00p modes, that most HD-capable monitors understand. Even then, if you use HD-SDI connections, it will be PsF.

It does. Just not for deleting stuff in bins. For that, it has Autosave and the Attic 😉

Close the application immediately. Find the Attic. Inside it, there should be old version of the bin that sequence lived in. _COPY_ a few of those to your desktop, make sure that their filename ends with ‘.avb’, then open the most recent one in your project. If that does not contain your sequence, close that bin, and open an older version. Repeat until you find your sequence.

There is no acceleration slider anymore. That was part of classic keyframes, whereas MC5 only allows for Advanced Keyframes.

However, my guess is they found some mistakes in there, and are updating the file. Mind you, this is a very fresh release, and documents are being updated and completed as they are working towards a March release. -
