No need to relink if you copy the mediafiles at finder level. Important thing is to make sure that you place the mediafiles in a folder Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 (or any other number), but Avid MediaFiles needs to live on the ROOT of the media drive.

Sure, just combine them any way you want. The green dots indicate that there is a framerate conversion happening (from 59.94i to 29.97p for instance).

What’s your source format, frame rate and raster size and what’s your sequence format, frame rate and raster size? If one doesn’t match the other, you will get either a Motion Adapter or FrameFlex, which will show as green dots.

Media Composer let us do that until 1998, then it became a non-RT effect.
The Title Tool is pretty much an abomination, and not only did Avid not develop it much, they keep breaking it with each release, or so it seems.
You might want to check out Marquee, which is slow, but far more capable.

A roll is a non-RT effect (blue dot), which means you need to render before you can play. It’s been that way for too long.
Also, if you were able to play it in the source monitor, the roll would often be very slow, since the speed of the roll is determined by the length and the duration, and the default duration of a title is 2 minutes. -
One of them (Same As Source) is just a rewrap of your final sequence into a QT container. The other is a Quicktime re-encode using the DNxHD QT Codec.
Using the first, the ‘RGB’ setting merely adds a display tag that will make QT player remap when playing back. Not all apps may consider that tag.
Not sure what happens with that remap tag if you use the latter, but it is a very different way to create such a file and it does mean an extra generation of DNxHD.
