Fermin,
Curious how you are working with AVC-I footage at this point. We have an HPX2000 with the AVC-I board and its a real pain to get the stuff working in Media 100. Have to transcode it to Prores in final cut and then run everything thru compressor to make files 59.94 (since AVC-I only shoots native rates in 720p).
If I am missing something I’d love to hear…

Jeremy,
I totally agree with you on the learning thing, but that being said we’re doing this shoot tomorrow and I am just trying to decide if we can shoot it in AVC-I and deal with the 59.94 issue or just shoot DVCPro HD, so if you have a droplet I would be in your debt.

I’ll try saving the current scene file and see if I get the structure.

On the compressor issue first. So Log and transfer to Prores in FCP first (keep it 10bit) then what would I need to do within compressor to get files to 59.94 to hand off to this other editor?
On the SD card. Yeah. Format it in the camera (and in our hpg10) Says its successful. Bring the SD card onto the mac and its just totally empty. No folder structure. I remember that the configuration of the card was supposed to build the folder structure. Am I wrong?
Thanks for your help.

Jeremy,
Sounds like we may need to go the Compressor route. Do they have to be transcoded to ProRes before compressor or are you working with the native AVC-I files? And am I loosing 10bit in the process? If not, is there a good compressor preset to use or start with for this process?
On a somewhat unrelated topic, have you ever had trouble getting an SD card configured in the 2000. I configure it and it says it ready, but loading on the mac the file structure is not there (trying to transfer scene files) Both the camera and our P2 Gear do the same…
Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you transferred the cards? If so, how did you download the footage?

Thanks for the info. I did see your thread, Gregg, after I posted. Along a similar vein, can you really no longer export a mono single channel audio file, out of Media 100? Seems that way.

We have one too. Its already compressed, so you will get the first of the two numbers on the tape with the 320 drive. Works like a dream, but takes a long time, so don’t recommend watching it happen…[Gregorio Paolini] “recommend”

Floh,
Your audio tut was great by the way.
I set out capturing this material uncompressed 4:2:2 specifically for this reason, but screwed up mid stream by another project. I am sure this is the issue and will just re-dig the final edit before the grade.
Look forward to the Color Tutorial.

You mention you uploaded some sample files, but did not say where…

Floh,
Thanks for the response. My experience is that the older importer is not reading XML files exported out of 13.0.1. Every time I try to import an XML created with 13.0.1 AE just immediately crashes. Older XML files exported from M100 12.1.3 can be imported just fine.
Just to confirm, are you saying you are able to open XML files exported from 13.0.1 on a system running the older importer running under 10.4.11?
Thanks again for checking into this…its really got me stumped…and in a bad way if I can’t read new XML!
