For some odd reason, the download dribbles down to 3 kb per second making for a two hour download.

Meanwhile, my $500 SDI & Real Time effects card (from Cow Classifieds) works brilliantly thus making my iXR very usable for many years to come.

I bought a G5 for After Effects and MPEG-2 encoding (through the SDI breakout box), but I’m resigned to keeping my G4 Dual 1.25 until it blows up because I’m not about to spend $7,000 on the upgrade and/or throw out a great system that still works.

Actually, Boris is the perfect way to do it. If your titles don’t need rendering: just makes one title the length of your program and in Boris make a black layer as the top bar and another black color layer as the bottom bar.

I trashed everything Media 100 on the computer, reinstalled the transcoder, and now it works. Thank you SO MUCH for responding – Floh, you really are a stellar person!

I noticed that very same peculiarity when I software upgraded to an XR. Truthfully, you need the real time effects card. I bought one used with the SDI option attached ($500) and now all the real time effects look great.

But I think an update for TIGER might actually be vapor-ware.

Believe it or not, the tutorial and manuals for Media 100 are great. 🙂
